FAQ
-
What type of fish will we catch?
Unfortunately, Sunny Cove Outfitters (SCO) cannot guaranteed that each charter will be successful.
Throughout the summer, we will be fishing for salmon: chum or dog, sockeye, Chinook or king, coho or silver, and pink. SCO is licensed to fish for salmon, not halibut.

It is a privilege to fish in Ketchikan and SCO takes this responsibility seriously. We abide by all state laws including fishing limits per person.
Safe boat and water practices are enforced so that everyone is able to have a fun and remarkable adventure. Please keep in mind that there will be other people and boats on the water and that nature should always be respected.

If you feel that you and your group have received excellent service, tipping is kindly appreciated.

Where do I process my fish?
If you feel comfortable cleaning your catch, there are available tables at Bar Harbor. You can also drop-off fish at Cedar Lodge for processing. Prior to your trip, we suggest letting SCO know if you plan to utilize Cedar Lodge so that we can call ahead on your behalf.

How do I take/ship my fish home?
Airlines will accept fish boxes (with frozen, vacuum-sealed fish) as checked luggage. Fish boxes can be purchased from local retailers. SCO recommends taking an inventory of each fish box.
